Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 October 2026.

1. Introduction

The organisers of the Noncommunicable Diseases Malaysia Conference 2026 ("NCDM 2026") are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of participants, abstract authors and website visitors. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and your rights.

By registering for NCDM 2026, submitting an abstract or using this website, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

  • Registration data: full name, organisation, email, phone number, IC or passport number, address, country and registration category.
  • Abstract submissions: author names, affiliations, abstract title and content.
  • Enquiries: the details you include when you email us.
  • Usage data: anonymised browsing data that helps us understand how the website is used. No personally identifiable information is stored for analytics.

3. How we use your information

Your personal data is used only for purposes connected with NCDM 2026, including:

  • Processing your registration and issuing your confirmation, receipt and certificate of attendance.
  • Sending conference updates, programme changes and important notices.
  • Reviewing abstract submissions and responding to enquiries.
  • Preparing delegate lists and name badges for on-site use.
  • Meeting legal or regulatory obligations under Malaysian law.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

4. Payment processing

Payments are processed by a secure third-party payment gateway. The organiser does not store your full card details or banking credentials. Payment data is handled under the gateway's own security standards and privacy practices.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share personal data only where needed to deliver the conference — for example with our abstract management platform, the venue, and accreditation bodies for CPD certification. All processors must handle your data securely and in line with applicable privacy law.

6. Retention

Registration and attendance records are kept for as long as Malaysian accounting and legal requirements require. Abstract data is kept for the review process and for post-conference archiving. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to resolve them.

7. Security

This website is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. If a breach affects your rights, we will notify you as required by the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia).

8. Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may access the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct it. To exercise these rights, or to ask for deletion where no legal obligation prevents it, email [email protected].

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date.
